MIMICO DADS SLAY THE BARR-BARIANS
MDHO wins in a classic, downing the Biggs & Barr-Barians 8-6. The Dads weren’t ready for stop time, face offs and an actual referee to start the game, all foreign objects on Drummond Sunday nights. The HTZ radio boys had them on their heels early.not allowing a shot in the first 5 minutes. If MDHO were going to compete they needed to get it together quick. The Barr-Barians potent offence punched a bunch behind Borean early with Butler, Big Ben and Joey Bricks finding twine. With Mimico down 4-2, Coon cashes the penalty shot awarded on a contoversial play which sparks the Dads. The comeback was on and we rose to the occasion, taking it to the Barr-barians with quick passes and breakouts that put them on their heels. A true team effort by the Dads with contributions from all led to a glorious triumphant victory. All hail Mimico. Jon Land was electric, burying the Hatty, including a shorthander. Coon gets a 2nd in the empty net with Potts, Aldridge and Paliwoda hitting twine too in the comeback. Matt recovers from the early onslaught to be the difference maker, stoning the Triple B’s when it counted to preserve the win. There may have been some bruised egos at the end of the game but there were no losers on this night. The Mimico Dads raised $630 for 97.7 HTZ-FM’s cause, After School Matters in the Niagara Region. A most worthwhile cause, one the Mimico Dads were happy to support. Thanks to Pastey Jamie of the Barians for hosting us, you guys rock🤘B&B rule
